This provides shoreside electrical power to berthed cruise vessels while the ship's main and auxiliary diesel engines are shut down. The shore power technology reduces greenhouse gas emissions by over 2800 tons per year. The project was rolled out in 2 phases - firstly for wintering vessels and later for cruise vessels. In 2016, the port installed 4 shore power stations (berths 25, 27, 29, M2) where berthed vessels can connect to the city's power grid. For all fourteen years, Morris Cruise Nights have been held on Saturdays on the second week of the month. They extended from the summer into October to connect with a Lion Club event, maximizing attendance and bringing even more business to downtown Morris. Also a huge thank you to Randy Curry for all of the amazing event photos. By focusing on these areas, we strive to create the best possible Cruise Night while making a positive impact on our community. The popular pastime of cruising down Morris’ famed Liberty Street was known as "Buzzin’ the Gut.” Morris Cruise Night has revived that tradition and warmly invites you to join us at our events.

Mardi Gras Staterooms Cruise Ship Rooms & Suites

carnival cruise interior

As you might expect, pricing for ships will generally be lower during offseason periods such as September, October and parts of November. Note that three of the line's newest ships — Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration and Carnival Venezia — do not have launderettes. The social and value plans cost $18 and $23 per day, respectively, when bought onboard a ship. Note that it is important that the name on your reservation be exactly as it is stated on your passport or other official proof of nationality. All this said, we recommend checking Carnival's website before sailing for the very latest on requirements. Carnival also offers dedicated tween and teen programs on ships for children aged 12 to 17.

Major Differences Between Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Line

An Interior stateroom is the most affordable way to cruise, and Mardi Gras’ interiors don’t leave out the comfort! Design is more than just the way things look — it’s as much about how they work. And staterooms aboard Mardi Gras are packed with innovative changes to both. It’s the way the ring-lit vanity mirror lights you evenly and shadow-free as you get ready.

What does Cloud 9 Spa Interior Room include?

carnival cruise interior

The size of the beds and the room itself varies depending on the ship and category, ranging from 155 to 185 square feet. Interior rooms on Carnival Cruise Line typically feature either two twin beds or a King-size bed, which can be converted from the twin beds. The comfort level of the beds is subjective, but I found them to be comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep. When it comes to room amenities, the Interior Rooms come equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a private bathroom, flat-screen TV, and plenty of storage space. However, if you’re looking for more natural light and a view of the ocean, there are alternative room options available, such as the Porthole and Obstructed View rooms.

Havana Staterooms & Suites

The launderettes also have vending machines that dispense small boxes of detergent and water softener at $1.50 per box. Each group has its own age-appropriate activities ranging from face painting to pirate adventures. On many ships there are extensive dedicated spaces for the different groups.

On both cruises, bottled water was available for a fee.

The term “family room” brings to mind that comfy place where kids and parents can do the all-important work of having fun simply being together. You’ll notice that Family Harbor staterooms sport a classically American nautical décor... As you explore the rest of the ship, the Family Harbor benefits come along, with your kids eating free in most onboard specialty restaurants... Plus one free evening of Night Owls babysitting service, so you can enjoy some much-deserved alone time. Fun-focused Carnival offers a solid mix of cabins on its vessels for a range of price points.

Jubilee Dining Room

Passengers can learn to cook everything from Carnival's classic warm chocolate melting cake to its popular saffron risotto during one- to two-hour classes that cost $30 to $59 per person. Other popular venues found on some Carnival ships include RedFrog Pub, which serves up Carnival's tasty housemade beers on tap, as well as plenty of other choices. Every Carnival ship has a casino, usually smack in the middle of the main entertainment deck.

However, the lack of natural light and view may not be ideal for everyone. (After retrofitting, several have around 150 balcony cabins, out of a total of more than 1,000 cabins in all.) In part because of this, Carnival has been phasing these ships out of its fleet in recent years. Located at the top of each ship on Deck 17, the complexes have separate living and sleeping areas and the most expansive balconies in the Carnival fleet — all unusual-for-Carnival features.

PREMIUM-VIEW EXTENDED BALCONY

The spa is lovely, and the fitness center is large and has great ocean views all the latest equipment. The interior stateroom on Cunard's Queen Elizabeth, which cost slightly more, was advertised online as 152 square feet, while the room on the Carnival Vista was a bit larger at 185 square feet. Carnival Cruise Lines was founded in 1972 by business mogul Ted Arison, according to Cruise Critic. The cruise line is known for its "fun ships," which operate budget-friendly cruises with various entertainment, the website adds.

There was a time when Carnival operated some of the biggest cruise ships in the world. Like other Carnival cruise ships, the Carnival Fantasy has an excellent fitness center and spa, with all of the latest equipment. Personal trainers will help you get into shape if you need guidance. Like most large cruise ships, the casino on the Carnival Fantasy is a favorite place for those who love gaming. The Carnival Fantasy library is quiet and large but doesn't have as many books as some cruise ship libraries on smaller ships. The Carnival Fantasy is a "fun ship," so most of its activities are for groups, couples, or families.

Unlike other big cruise brands such as Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line and Princess Cruises, Carnival doesn't spread its vessels around the world to draw a fly-in crowd. Aimed squarely at Americans, its trips are all about cruising close to home at a reasonable price. The self-described "fun ship" line is the king of short, affordable, fun-focused cruises from U.S. ports to the Caribbean, Bahamas, Mexico and other nearby destinations. No matter where you live in the U.S., you're probably within a few hours of a Carnival ship. The Cunard logo, which features a lion rampant, a crown, and laurel leaves, was prominent in Mikhaila's stateroom.

Carnival vessels based on the East Coast and along the Gulf of Mexico mostly sail to the Caribbean and Bahamas. Some East Coast ships also head to Bermuda, New England and Canada. On the West Coast, sailings to Mexico, Hawaii and Alaska are the norm. However, with two exceptions, they're not giants by today's standards. Carnival is one of the world's biggest cruise lines by passenger capacity, with 25 ships that together offer nearly 80,000 berths. Cleopatra's Bar is found on Atlantic Deck 8 next to the Pavilion Library on the Carnival Fantasy cruise ship.

In general, the production shows aren't nearly as sophisticated — or as long — as what you'll find on Royal Caribbean or Norwegian ships. Every Carnival ship has one big theater where you'll often find flashy, fast-paced production shows that string together a medley of loosely related tunes. Designed to be quick and digestible, they typically last around 30 minutes and have relatively small casts (just eight on some ships). Every vessel has two main dining rooms and a casual buffet eatery where meals are included in the fare. For dinner in the main dining room, you must sign up for either Your Time dining (you go whenever you want) or Traditional Dining (you have a fixed table and time for dinner). Carnival draws a lively, outgoing crowd looking to be part of the action.

There are various rooms to choose from in the Family Harbor section, which can sleep up to 5 depending on the cabin. Most are similar to the rooms you’d find on the rest of the ships, except Family Habor rooms have a nautical décor on red, blues, whites. The Family Habor section houses some unique rooms, though, that are perfect for families. The Deluxe Ocean View has two bathrooms, one with a junior tub, which is a rarity on many cruise ships.
